1 Start the Butternut Squash and Sausage
Spray both provided trays with cooking spray.
Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary.Place sausage in one prepared tray and break into bite-sized pieces.Place butternut squash, 2 tsp. olive oil, and half the garlic salt (reserve remaining for orzo) in second prepared tray. Massage oil and seasoning into butternut squash. In now-empty tray, combine orzo, cream base, half the cheddar (reserve remaining for topping), half the Parmesan (reserve remaining for garnish), flour, 1/2 cup water, remaining garlic salt, chicken base, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper. Spread into an even layer and evenly top with remaining cheddar. -
3 Bake the Meal
Bake both trays uncovered in hot oven until butternut squash is tender, orzotto is bubbling, and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 15-18 minutes.
