Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

- Ground Turkey 165° F |

1 Prepare the Ingredients
Remove stem, seeds, and ribs, and cut bell pepper into 1/4" dice.
Halve and peel onion. Cut halves into 1/4" dice. -
2 Start the Filling
Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 Tbsp. olive oil.
Add bell peppers, onions, and 1/4 tsp. salt to hot pan. Stir occasionally until tender, 6-8 minutes. -
3 Finish the Filling
Add ground beef and garlic salt to hot pan with vegetables. Break up meat until no pink remains and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.
Add tomato puree, BBQ sauce, 1/2 cup water, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a simmer.Once simmering, stir occasionally until sauce has thickened, 3-5 minutes.Remove from burner. -
4 Heat Rolls and Finish Dish
Wrap rolls in a damp paper towel and microwave until warm, 30-60 seconds.
Carefully remove from microwave.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, filling roll with cheese, pickles, then filling. Garnish with crispy jalapeños (to taste). Bon appétit!
