Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using antibiotic free chicken, pat dry. Cook until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes per side.

  • If using top round steak, pat dry. Cook until steak reaches desired doneness, or 3-5 minutes per side for medium/medium-well. Rest, 3 minutes. Steak thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner steak, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

  • If using salmon, pat dry. Add salmon, skin-side up first, and cook until salmon reaches minimum internal temperature, 3-4 minutes per side.

  1. 1

    Cook the Pork Chops

Pat pork chops dry. Season both sides with 1/4 tsp. salt and a pinch of pepper.

Place a medium non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

Working in batches if necessary, add pork chops to hot pan. Cook until golden-brown and pork reaches a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 3-5 minutes per side.

Pork thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner chop, we recommend checking for doneness sooner. Remove from burner. Transfer pork to a plate. Rest, 3 minutes.

    Wipe pan clean and reserve.

    While pork cooks, continue recipe.

  2. 2

    Cook the Carrots

Peel, trim, and cut carrot into 1/4" slices on an angle. If carrot is larger than 1" in diameter, halve before slicing.

Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Add carrots, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper to hot pan. Stir occasionally until slightly browned, 4-6 minutes.

Add 1/4 cup water and cover. Stir occasionally until water is mostly evaporated and vegetables are tender, 2-3 minutes.

Uncover, and stir in lemon n herb seasoning and butter until combined, 1-2 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    While carrots cook, continue recipe.

Alternatively, skip cooking carrots if desired, and serve raw on the side.

  3. 3

    Make the Sauce

Quarter apple and remove core. Cut into 1/4" dice.

Return pan used to cook pork to medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Add apples to hot pan. Stir occasionally until apples are slightly browned and tender, 2-4 minutes.

Add 1/4 cup water, half the creme fraiche (reserve remaining for mashed potatoes), mustard (to taste), and mushroom base. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

Once simmering, stir occasionally until sauce is slightly thickened, 2-4 minutes.

If too thick, add additional water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

    Remove from burner.

    While sauce cooks, continue recipe.

  4. 4

Heat Mashed Potatoes and Finish Dish

Place mashed potatoes, remaining creme fraiche, and garlic salt in a microwave-safe bowl. Vigorously stir to combine.

Microwave until heated through, 2-3 minutes.

Carefully remove from microwave. Vigorously stir to combine.

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping pork with sauce. Bon appétit!
