Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F

If using ground beef, break up until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

1 Start the Turkey
Place a large pot over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.
Add ground turkey to hot pot. Break up meat until slightly browned, 4-6 minutes. -
2 Start the Soup
Add minced garlic and parsley and butter (to taste) to hot pot. Stir occasionally until butter is melted, 1-2 minutes.
Stir in flour until no dry flour remains, 30-60 seconds. -
3 Add Broth and Finish Turkey
Add 4 cups water, chicken base, poultry seasoning, 1 tsp. salt, and butternut squash to hot pot. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
Once simmering, stir occasionally until slightly thickened, butternut squash is tender, and turkey reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 7-9 minutes. -
4 Finish Soup and Finish Dish
Drain potatoes in a colander/strainer.
Add potatoes and spinach to hot pot. Stir occasionally until potatoes are heated through and spinach is wilted, 1-2 minutes.Remove from burner.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping soup with cheese. Bon appétit!
