Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F

1 Prepare the Ingredients
Halve and peel onion. Cut halves into 1/4" slices.
Mince cilantro, leaves and stems.Pat chicken dry. -
2 Cook the Meal
Place slow cooker liner in slow cooker, if desired. If using an electric pressure cooker, fold top edges in before putting on lid.
Combine onion, spiced tomato sauce, tomato paste, tandoori seasoning, 1/4 cup water, 3/4 tsp. salt, and 1/4 tsp. pepper in slow cooker. Top with chicken.Turn slow cooker on to high heat. Cover, and cook until chicken reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 4 hours. -
3 Cook the Rice
Bring a medium pot with rice and 3 cups water to a boil.
Reduce to a simmer, cover, and cook until rice is tender, 14-17 minutes.Remove from burner and set aside, covered. -
4 Finish the Dish
While rice is boiling, stir butter, cream cheese, and peas into slow cooker.
Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping rice with butter chicken and garnishing with cilantro. Bon appétit!
