Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

  • Ground Turkey 165° F |

    Prepare the Rice

    Drain beans.

    Carefully massage rice in bag to break up any clumps. Remove rice from packaging. Combine rice, beans, corn, piri piri seasoning (to taste), and 1/4 tsp. salt in one provided tray. Cover with foil.

    Prepare the Meatloaves

    In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and shredded cheese.

    In another mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, panko, mayonnaise, 1/2 tsp. salt, and 1/4 tsp. pepper. Form meat mixture into four equally-sized, oval-shaped loaves, about 3" in length and 2" by height.

    Press your thumb into center of each oval and place 1/4 the cream cheese mixture into center of meatloaf. Close meat around cheese and re-form into an oval. Form a tight seal so cheese stays inside meat.

    Repeat with remaining meatloaves and transfer to second provided tray.

    Bake the Meal

    Bake both trays (meatloaves uncovered, rice covered) in hot oven until rice is heated through and meatloaves reach a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 20-25 minutes.

    Carefully remove trays from oven.

    To serve, top meatloaves with salsa (to taste). Bon appétit!
