Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

    Bake the Tortillas

    Tostadas are a delicious, but messy treat. For this recipe, they can easily be converted to tacos. Simply warm tortillas in oven for 1-2 minutes after completing steps.

    Poke tortillas with a fork all over, 10 times for each tortilla. Place tortillas directly on oven rack.

    Bake in hot oven until browned and crispy, 5-7 minutes.

    While tortillas bake, continue recipe.

    Bake the Shrimp

    Pat shrimp dry.

    In provided tray, combine shrimp, bell peppers, Asian garlic, ginger & chile seasoning (use less if spice-averse), and 1 tsp. olive oil. Spread into an even layer.

    Bake uncovered in hot oven until shrimp reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 20-25 minutes.

    Carefully remove tray from oven and drain any excess liquid.

    While shrimp bake, continue recipe.

    Make Slaw and Sweet Chili Mayonnaise and Finish Meal

    Coarsely crush walnuts.

    Stem cilantro and reserve whole leaves.

    In a mixing bowl, combine cabbage, dressing, and cilantro leaves. Set aside.

    In another mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise and sweet chili sauce. Set aside.

    To serve, evenly top tortillas with sweet chili mayonnaise, shrimp mixture, cabbage slaw, and crushed walnuts. Bon appétit!
