Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F
Customize It Instructions

Meatlovers! If using protein, cook in a medium non-stick pan over medium heat with 1 tsp. olive oil.

If using ground beef, break up until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

If using shrimp, pat dry. Cook until pink and shrimp reach minimum internal temperature, 2-3 minutes per side.

If using steak strips, pat dry, coarsely chop, then separate pieces. Stir occasionally until steak reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes. Rest, 3 minutes.

Add protein to meal as desired.

1 Prepare the Ingredients
Drain and rinse beans in a colander/strainer.
Finely chop mushrooms.Trim and thinly slice green onions, keeping white and green portions separate. -
2 Start the Filling
Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.
Add mushrooms and slaw mix to hot pan. Stir occasionally until slightly browned and tender, 3-5 minutes. -
3 Finish the Filling
Add white portions of green onions, beans, hot sauce (to taste), 1/4 the salsa (to taste; reserve remaining for garnish), and taco seasoning to hot pan. Stir occasionally until beans are heated through, 1-2 minutes.
Remove from burner.Mash beans until chunky. Transfer filling to a mixing bowl. Add cheese and stir to combine. Set aside. Wipe pan clean and reserve. -
4 Assemble the Flautas
Place tortillas on a clean work surface.
Evenly divide filling between tortillas, placing on one side.Fold tortilla over filling, tucking edge under. Roll tortilla tightly and place seam-side down. Repeat with remaining tortillas. -
5 Cook Flautas and Finish Dish
Return pan used to cook filling to medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.
Working in batches if necessary, place flautas in hot pan, seam-side down. Cook until browned on one side, 2-3 minutes.Gently roll to opposite side and cook until browned, 2-3 minutes.Replenish oil, if necessary.Remove from burner.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping flautas with remaining salsa (to taste) and sour cream. Garnish with green portions of green onions. Bon appétit!
