What’s old is new again. Well, these were never old to me since I’ve always been a big fan of Sloppy Joes. For me, the sloppier the better.

Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F

1 Bake the Fries
Cut potatoes into 1/4" fries and pat dry.
Place fries on prepared baking sheet and toss with 2 tsp. olive oil, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper.Spread into a single layer and bake in hot oven until lightly browned, 25-30 minutes, tossing fries halfway through.While fries bake, continue recipe. -
2 Prepare the Ingredients
Halve and peel onion. Cut halves into 1/4" dice.
Mince garlic. -
3 Start the Sloppy Joe Mixture
Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
Add 2 tsp. olive oil, ground beef, onion, garlic, and 1/4 tsp. salt to hot pan. Break up meat until no pink remains and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.Drain excess grease from pan, if desired. -
4 Finish the Sloppy Joe Mixture
Add tomato puree to hot pan and cook until slightly darkened, 1-2 minutes.
Add Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, a pinch of salt, and 1/2 cup water. Bring to a simmer.Once simmering, stir occasionally until sauce has slightly thickened, 2-3 minutes.Remove from burner. -
5 Toast Rolls and Finish Dish
Halve rolls, if necessary.
Place rolls directly on oven rack and bake until warmed through, 3-5 minutes.Carefully remove from oven.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping bottom roll with sloppy Joe mixture, pickles, crispy jalapeños (to taste), and top roll. Buon appetito!
