Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using antibiotic free chicken breasts or chicken breasts, pat dry. Cook in a medium non-stick pan over medium heat with 1 tsp. olive oil until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes per side.

  • If using salmon, pat dry. Add salmon, skin-side up first, and cook in a medium non-stick pan over medium heat with 1 tsp. olive oil until salmon reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes per side.

    Start the Vegetables

    Cut potatoes into 1" pieces.

    Place potatoes, half the garlic pepper (reserve remaining for trout), 1/4 tsp. salt, and 2 tsp. olive oil on prepared baking sheet. Massage oil and seasonings into potatoes and spread into an even layer.

    Roast in hot oven, 15 minutes.

    While potatoes roast, continue recipe.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Remove stem, seeds, and ribs, and cut bell pepper into 1/2" dice.

    Pat trout dry and season flesh side with remaining garlic pepper.

    Add the Trout

    After 15 minutes, carefully remove sheet from oven.

    Stir bell peppers and a pinch of salt into potatoes. Push vegetables to one side of sheet. Sheet will be hot! Use a utensil.

    Place trout on now-empty side of sheet.

    Finish Trout and Vegetables and Finish Dish

    Roast in hot oven until vegetables are tender and trout reaches a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 7-10 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven. Stir softened butter into vegetables until melted and combined.

    To serve, top trout with softened Sicilian sauce (to taste). Garnish vegetables with cheese. Bon appétit!
