Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F
Customize It Instructions

If using ground beef or ground turkey, roast until meatballs reach minimum internal temperature, 17-20 minutes.

Prepare the Potatoes
Cut potatoes into 1/4"-thick fries and pat dry.
Place on prepared baking sheet and top with 1 Tbsp. olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper. Massage oil and seasonings into potatoes. Spread into an even layer on one half of baking sheet. -
Add the Meatballs
In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, onion salt, sour cream, and panko.
Form mixture into 6 equally-sized meatballs and place on empty side of sheet. -
Roast the Potatoes and Meatballs
Roast in hot oven until potatoes are tender and meatballs reach a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 20-25 minutes.
Carefully remove sheet from oven. -
Add Toppings and Finish Dish
While potatoes and meatballs roast, halve and peel onion. Slice halves into thin strips.
After 20-25 minutes, evenly top meatballs with BBQ sauce and onions. Roast again in hot oven until sauce and onions are heated through, 3-5 minutes.Place rolls directly on oven rack. Toast until lightly browned, 3-5 minutes.Carefully remove sheet and rolls from oven. Stir piri piri seasoning (to taste) into potatoes until evenly coated.To serve, fill roll with meatballs, sauce, and onions and top with pickles. Bon appétit!
