Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F

If using ground beef, break up until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes.

1 Prepare Ingredients and Cook Peppers
Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add peppers to hot pan and stir occasionally until tender, 3-4 minutes.
While peppers cook, mince pickled onions.Pat steak strips dry. Coarsely chop, then separate pieces. -
2 Add the Steak Strips
Add steak strips, garlic and parsley seasoning, and 1/4 tsp. salt to hot pan. Stir occasionally until no pink remains and steak strips reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 4-6 minutes.
Add chicken base and 1/4 cup water. Stir often until combined and coated, 1-2 minutes.Remove from burner. Rest, 3 minutes.While steak strips cook, continue recipe. -
3 Make the Cheese Sauce
Place a medium non-stick pan over medium heat. Add 1/2 cup water to hot pan and bring to a simmer.
Once simmering, add cream cheese. Whisk or vigorously stir until cream cheese melts, 1-2 minutes.Add shredded cheese and a pinch of salt. Stir often until cheese melts and sauce slightly thickens, 1-2 minutes. -
4 Add Pasta and Finish Dish
Add pasta to cheese sauce and stir often until coated and heated through, 2-3 minutes.
If sauce is too thick, add additional water 1 Tbsp. at a time until desired consistency is reached.Remove from burner.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping mac and cheese with steak strips and peppers and pickled onions. Bon appétit!
