Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

Customize It Instructions

If using 20 oz. steak strips, follow same instructions as 10 oz. steak strips, working in batches if necessary.

If using diced chicken breasts, pat dry. Follow same instructions as steak strips in Step 3, stirring occasionally until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes.

Roast the Fries
Cut potatoes into 1/4"-thick fries and pat dry.
Place fries on prepared baking sheet and toss with 1 Tbsp. olive oil, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper. Spread into an even layer.Roast in hot oven until lightly browned, 25-28 minutes, tossing fries halfway through.While fries roast, continue recipe. -
Prepare the Ingredients
Cut lime into wedges.
Pat steak strips dry. Coarsely chop, then separate pieces. -
Cook the Steak Strips
Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add steak strips to hot pan. Sear undisturbed, 1 minute.
Add pesto (use less if spice-averse), chicken base, and 1/4 cup water. Stir occasionally until no pink remains and steak strips reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 4-6 minutes.Remove from burner. Top with cheese. Rest, 3 minutes. -
Toast the Buns
Place buns directly on wire rack in hot oven and toast until lightly browned, 1-2 minutes.
Carefully remove from oven. -
Finish the Dish
Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping bottom bun with crema, steak mixture, and top bun. Drizzle chimichurri over fries or serve on the side for dipping. Squeeze lime wedges over fries to taste. Bon appétit!
