Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Start the Meatloaves

    Finely crush crackers.

    In a mixing bowl, combine crushed crackers and 2 Tbsp. water. Let sit, 1 minute.

    After 1 minute, add ground beef, pot roast seasoning, a pinch of salt, and sour cream. Form mixture into two equally-sized, oval-shaped loaves, about 3" in length and 2" by height. Place on one side of prepared baking sheet.

    Roast in hot oven, 10 minutes.

    Meatloaves will finish cooking in a later step.

    While meatloaves roast, continue recipe.

    Make Glaze and Prepare Broccoli

    In another mixing bowl, combine ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Set aside.

    After 10 minutes, carefully remove sheet from oven.

    Place broccoli on empty side of sheet and toss with 2 tsp. olive oil, 1/4 tsp. salt, and garlic and parsley seasoning. Spread into an even layer on their side. Sheet will be hot! Use caution.

    Finish the Meatloaves and Broccoli

    Top meatloaves with glaze.

    Roast again in hot oven until broccoli is tender and meatloaves reach a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 15-18 minutes.

    Carefully remove sheet from oven.

    Finish the Dish

    To serve, top broccoli with cheese and let melt. Bon appétit!
