Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

- Ground Turkey 165° F |

If using 16 oz. Italian sausage, follow same instructions as 8 oz., working in batches if necessary.

1 Cook Pasta and Prepare Ingredients
Once water is boiling, add pasta and cook until al dente, 8-10 minutes.
Remove from burner. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta cooking water. Drain pasta in a colander and set aside.While pasta cooks, remove stem, seeds, and ribs, and cut bell pepper into 1/2" dice.Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary. -
2 Cook the Peppers and Sausage
Place a large oven-safe non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.
Add Italian sausage, bell peppers, and a pinch of salt and pepper to hot pan. Stir occasionally until peppers are tender and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes. -
3 Add the Sauce
Add crushed tomatoes, reserved pasta cooking water, paprika, Italian seasoning, and garlic salt to hot pan. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
Once simmering, reduce heat to medium. Cover and stir occasionally until sauce has slightly thickened, 15-20 minutes. -
4 Add the Pasta and Cheese
Add cream cheese and cooked pasta to hot pan. Stir often until cream cheese is melted and combined, 1-2 minutes.
Remove from burner and top with shredded cheese. -
5 Bake Pasta and Finish Dish
Transfer pan to hot oven and bake until cheese has melted and browned, 8-12 minutes.
Transfer to casserole dish if pan is not oven-safe.Carefully remove from oven. Pan handle will be hot! Use an oven mitt.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, Bon appétit!
