Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using 20 oz. ground beef, follow same instructions as 10 oz., working in batches if necessary. 

  • If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes. 

  • If using Impossible burger, break up until protein reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

    Cook the Beef

    Place a medium pot over medium-high heat.

    Add ground beef and potato spice seasoning to hot, dry pot.

    Break up meat until no pink remains and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

    While beef cooks, continue recipe.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Coarsely chop broccoli.

    Trim and thinly slice green onions on an angle, keeping white and green portions separate.

    Add the Vegetables and Flour

    Add 1 tsp. olive oil, broccoli, white portions of green onions, flour, and a pinch of salt and pepper to hot pot with beef.

    Stir often until no dry flour remains.

    Add Broth and Finish Dish

    Add chicken base, cream base, and 2 cups water to hot pot. Bring to a simmer.

    Once simmering, stir occasionally until broccoli is tender and soup thickens, 8-10 minutes.

    Remove from burner. Stir in cheese until melted and combined.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping soup with green portions of green onions. Bon appétit!
