Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using 20 oz. ground turkey, follow same instructions as 10 oz, working in batches if necessary. 

  • If using ground beef, break up until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes. 

  • If using Impossible burger, break up until protein reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

    Start the Turkey

    Place a medium non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil.

    Add ground turkey and adobo seasoning to hot pan. Break up meat and stir occasionally until turkey browns, 1-2 minutes.

    Turkey will finish cooking in a later step.

    While turkey cooks, continue recipe.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Stem kale and coarsely chop.

    Coarsely crush pepitas in shipping bag.

    Finish the Turkey

    Add enchilada sauce to hot pan and bring to a simmer.

    Once simmering, stir occasionally until turkey reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 5-7 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    While turkey cooks, continue recipe.

    Cook Vegetables and Finish Dish

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Add slaw mix, kale, 1/4 tsp. salt, garlic salt, and 1/4 cup water to hot pan. Cover and cook until vegetables are wilted, 2-3 minutes.

    Uncover and stir occasionally until tender, 1-2 minutes.

    Remove from burner. Stir in butter until melted and combined, 1-2 minutes.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping vegetables with turkey and garnishing with cheese, chipotle crema, and pepitas. Bon appétit!
