Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |

- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F

1 Start the Vegetables and Ground Beef
Place ground beef in provided tray and break into bite-sized pieces.
Add onion salt, diced onions, mushrooms, and 2 tsp. olive oil. Stir to combine and spread into an even layer.Bake uncovered in hot oven, 10 minutes.Carefully remove tray from oven and drain any excess liquid. -
2 Prepare the Risotto
Carefully massage rice in bag to break up any clumps and remove from packaging.
Add rice, cream base, mirepoix base, 1/4 tsp. salt, a pinch of pepper, and 1/4 cup water to tray with beef mixture. Stir to combine. Tray will be hot! Use a utensil.Cover tray with foil. -
3 Bake the Meal
Bake covered in hot oven until risotto is bubbling and ground beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 10-12 minutes.
Carefully remove from oven. Uncover and stir risotto.If too thick, add additional water, 1 tsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.To serve, top risotto with crispy onions. Bon appétit!
