Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |

- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F

If using chicken breasts, pat dry. Cook until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes per side.

If using NY strip steak, pat dry. Cook until steak reaches desired doneness, or 4-6 minutes per side for medium/medium-well. Rest, 3 minutes. Steak thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner steak, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

1 Cook the Pasta
Once water is boiling, add pasta and cook until al dente, 7-9 minutes.
Remove from burner. Reserve 1/4 cup pasta cooking water. Drain in a colander and set aside.While pasta cooks, continue recipe. -
2 Toast the Panko
Line a plate with a paper towel.
Place a medium non-stick pan over medium heat. Add 1/4 the softened butter (reserve remaining for broccoli and steak) to hot pan and stir occasionally until melted, 30-60 seconds.Add panko and stir occasionally until golden-brown, 3-4 minutes.Remove from burner. Transfer to towel-lined plate and set aside. Wipe pan clean and reserve. -
3 Cook the Broccoli
Place another medium non-stick pan over medium heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add broccoli and 1/4 cup water to hot pan. Cover, and cook until water is almost completely evaporated, 4-6 minutes.
Uncover, and stir occasionally until tender, 2-3 minutes.Add a pinch of salt and pepper and 1/4 the remaining softened butter (reserve remaining for steak) until melted and combined. -
4 Add the Mac and Cheese
Add pasta, cream base, cream cheese, half the shredded cheese (reserve remaining for topping), half the garlic salt (reserve remaining for steak), and 2 Tbsp. pasta cooking water to hot pan with broccoli. Stir constantly until cheese melts, 1-2 minutes.
If too thick, add additional pasta cooking water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.Remove from burner. Transfer mixture to prepared casserole dish. Top with remaining shredded cheese and toasted panko.Bake uncovered in hot oven until cheese melts, 10-15 minutes.While mac and cheese bakes, continue recipe. -
5 Cook Steaks and Finish Dish
Pat steaks dry and season both sides with remaining garlic salt and a pinch of pepper.
Return pan used to toast panko to medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.Add steaks to hot pan and cook until steaks reach desired doneness, or 4-6 minutes per side for medium/medium-well.Steak thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner steak, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.Remove from burner. Rest, 3 minutes.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping steak with remaining softened butter. Bon appétit!
