Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using chicken breasts, pat dry. Cook until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes per side.

  • If using NY strip steak, pat dry. Cook until steak reaches desired doneness, or 4-6 minutes per side for medium/medium-well. Rest, 3 minutes. Steak thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner steak, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

Once water is boiling, add pasta and cook until al dente, 7-9 minutes.

Remove from burner. Reserve 1/4 cup pasta cooking water. Drain in a colander and set aside.

    While pasta cooks, continue recipe.

  2. 2

    Toast the Panko

Line a plate with a paper towel.

Place a medium non-stick pan over medium heat. Add 1/4 the softened butter (reserve remaining for broccoli and steak) to hot pan and stir occasionally until melted, 30-60 seconds.

Add panko and stir occasionally until golden-brown, 3-4 minutes.

Remove from burner. Transfer to towel-lined plate and set aside. Wipe pan clean and reserve.

  3. 3

    Cook the Broccoli

Place another medium non-stick pan over medium heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add broccoli and 1/4 cup water to hot pan. Cover, and cook until water is almost completely evaporated, 4-6 minutes.

Uncover, and stir occasionally until tender, 2-3 minutes.

Add a pinch of salt and pepper and 1/4 the remaining softened butter (reserve remaining for steak) until melted and combined.

  4. 4

    Add the Mac and Cheese

Add pasta, cream base, cream cheese, half the shredded cheese (reserve remaining for topping), half the garlic salt (reserve remaining for steak), and 2 Tbsp. pasta cooking water to hot pan with broccoli. Stir constantly until cheese melts, 1-2 minutes.

If too thick, add additional pasta cooking water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

Remove from burner. Transfer mixture to prepared casserole dish. Top with remaining shredded cheese and toasted panko.

Bake uncovered in hot oven until cheese melts, 10-15 minutes.

While mac and cheese bakes, continue recipe.

  5. 5

    Cook Steaks and Finish Dish

Pat steaks dry and season both sides with remaining garlic salt and a pinch of pepper.

Return pan used to toast panko to medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

Add steaks to hot pan and cook until steaks reach desired doneness, or 4-6 minutes per side for medium/medium-well.

Steak thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner steak, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

Remove from burner. Rest, 3 minutes.

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping steak with remaining softened butter. Bon appétit!
