Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

Cook the Sausage
Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary.
Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil.Add Italian sausage to hot pan. Break into smaller pieces until no pink remains and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes. -
Add the Kale
Add minced garlic and parsley and pesto to hot pan with sausage. Stir often, 30 seconds.
Add kale, 1/4 cup water, and 1/4 tsp. salt. Stir occasionally until kale is tender, 3-4 minutes.Season with garlic salt and a pinch of pepper. -
Add the Sauce
Add cream base to hot pan. Bring to a simmer.
Once simmering, stir occasionally until slightly thickened, 1-2 minutes. -
Add Pasta and Finish Dish
Stir pasta and cheese (reserve a pinch for garnish) into hot pan until cheese is melted and pasta is heated through, 2-3 minutes.
Remove from burner.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, garnishing with remaining cheese. Bon appétit!
