Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Start the Sausage

    Spray provided tray with cooking spray.

    Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary.

    Place sausage in prepared provided tray and break into smaller pieces. Spread into a single layer. Bake uncovered in hot oven, 10 minutes.

    Add the Pasta and Sauce

    After 10 minutes, carefully remove tray from oven. Drain any excess liquid. Tray will be hot! Use an oven mitt.

    Stir in flour until no dry flour remains. Add cream base, mushroom seasoning, pasta, spinach, and 1/4 tsp. salt. Stir to combine.

    Bake the Meal

    Bake again uncovered in hot oven until sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 10-15 minutes.

    Carefully remove tray from oven.

    Stir in lemon juice and half the cheese (reserve remaining for garnish) until melted.

    To serve, garnish with remaining cheese. Bon appétit!
