Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

Customize It Instructions

If using Impossible burger, follow same instructions as sausage in Step 3, breaking up burger until heated through, 4-6 minutes.

If using diced chicken breasts, pat dry. Follow same instructions as sausage in Step 3, stirring occasionally until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes.

If using shrimp, pat dry. Follow same instructions as sausage in Step 3, cooking until shrimp reach minimum internal temperature, 2-3 minutes per side.

Cook the Pasta
Once water is boiling, add pasta and cook until al dente, 8-10 minutes.
Drain pasta in a colander and set aside.While pasta cooks, prepare ingredients. -
Prepare the Ingredients
Stem, seed, remove ribs, and cut red bell pepper into 1/4" dice.
Mince garlic.Remove sausage from casing, if necessary. -
Cook the Sausage
Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
Add 1 tsp. olive oil and Italian sausage to hot pan. Break into smaller pieces until no pink remains and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.Remove sausage to a plate. Keep pan over medium-high heat. -
Cook the Red Bell Pepper
Add red bell pepper to hot pan and stir occasionally until tender, 4-5 minutes.
Add garlic and stir occasionally until fragrant, 30-60 seconds. -
Finish the Dish
Add sausage and cream sauce base to hot pan. Bring to a boil.
Once boiling, stir in spinach until wilted, 1-2 minutes.Stir in pasta, half the cheese (reserve remaining for topping), and red pepper flakes (to taste) until combined and warmed through, 1-2 minutes.Remove from burner.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping with remaining cheese.
