Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Thoroughly rinse produce and pat dry. Slice a ⅛" round from the end of orange and half that round for garnishing glasses. Peel remaining orange, separate segments, and remove seeds. Stem kale leaves. Core apple, remove seeds and chop into 1" pieces. Halve avocado and remove pit.

    Blend the Smoothie

    Place the apple, kale, and orange segments in the blender. Using a spoon, scoop the meat from the avocado into the blender. Add 2 cups of ice and ½ cup of water, adding more water as needed to achieve desired consistency as you blend. Blend until smooth, adding additional water as needed.

    Drink Up!

    Pour smoothie into tall glasses. Garnish with reserved orange slices. Drink up!
