Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using antibiotic free chicken breasts, pat dry. Cook until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes per side.

  • If using NY strip steak, pat dry. Cook until steak reaches desired doneness, or 4-6 minutes per side for medium/medium-well. Rest, 3 minutes. Steak thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner steak, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

    Cook the Steaks

    Pat steaks dry and season both sides with garlic pepper.

    Place a medium non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Add steaks to hot pan and cook until steaks reach desired doneness, or 3-5 minutes per side.

    Steak thickness can vary; depending on preference, we recommend checking internal temperature for accuracy.

    Remove from burner. Rest, 3 minutes.

    While steaks cook, continue recipe.

    Cook the Carrots

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Add 1/4 cup water and carrots to hot pan. Bring to a simmer.

    Once simmering, cover and stir occasionally until carrots are tender, 3-5 minutes.

    Uncover and stir often until water is evaporated, 1-2 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    While carrots cook, continue recipe.

    Heat the Mashed Potatoes

    In a microwave-safe bowl, add mashed potatoes, cream cheese, minced garlic and parsley, and 1/4 tsp. salt. Vigorously stir to combine. Cover with a damp paper towel.

    Microwave covered until warmed through, 3-4 minutes.

    Carefully remove from microwave. Stir vigorously to combine.

    Make Blue Cheese Butter and Finish Dish

    Combine softened butter and blue cheese (to taste) in a mixing bowl. Set aside.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping steak with blue cheese butter and garnishing carrots with balsamic glaze (to taste). Bon appétit!
