Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F

If using ground beef, cook until patties reach minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes per side.

1 Toast Buns and Make Slaw
Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat. Working in batches if necessary, add buns, cut-side down, to hot, dry pan. Toast until lightly browned, 1-2 minutes.
Remove from burner. Transfer buns to a plate. Reserve pan; no need to wipe clean.While buns toast, in a mixing bowl, combine slaw mix and a pinch of salt. Gently massage slaw mix until softened, 45-60 seconds.Add dressing and stir to combine. Set aside. -
2 Make the Pimiento Cheese Spread
In another mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheese, pesto, and a pinch of salt. Set aside.

3 Prepare the Patties and Pickles
Coarsely chop pickles.
Form ground turkey into 8 equally-sized meatballs. Flatten to form patties, about 3" in diameter. Season both sides with onion salt. -
4 Cook Patties and Finish Dish
Return pan used to toast buns to medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Working in batches if necessary, add patties to hot pan. Cook until patties reach a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 3-4 minutes per side.
Remove from burner. Transfer to another plate.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping bottom bun with patty, pimiento cheese spread, pickles (to taste), and top bun. Stir arugula into slaw and serve on the side. Bon appétit!
