Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using ground beef, cook until patties reach minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes per side.

  1. 1

    Toast Buns and Make Slaw

Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat. Add buns, cut side down, to hot, dry pan. Toast until lightly browned, 1-2 minutes.

Transfer buns to a plate. Reserve pan; no need to wipe clean.

While buns toast, in a mixing bowl, combine slaw mix and a pinch of salt. Gently massage slaw mix until softened, 45-60 seconds.

Add dressing and stir to combine.

  2. 2

    Make the Pimiento Cheese Spread

In another mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheese, pesto, and a pinch of salt.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Patties and Pickles

    Coarsely chop pickles.

Form ground turkey into 8 equally-sized meatballs. Flatten to form patties, about 3" in diameter. Season all over with onion salt.

  4. 4

    Cook Patties and Finish Dish

Return pan used to toast buns to medium heat. Add 2 tsp. olive oil and patties to hot pan. Cook until patties reach a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 3-4 minutes per side.

    Remove from burner.

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping bottom bun with patty, pimento spread, pickles (to taste), and top bun. Stir arugula into slaw, and serve on the side. Bon appétit!
