Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

Customize It Instructions

If using 20 oz. ground turkey, follow same instructions as 10 oz. ground turkey, working in batches, if necessary.

If using Italian sausage, remove from casing, if necessary. Follow same instructions as ground turkey in Step 3, breaking up until no pink remains and sausage reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

If using steak strips, spread into a single layer, pat dry, and coarsely chop. Follow same instructions as ground turkey in Step 3, stirring occasionally until no pink remains and steak strips reach minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes. Rest, 3 minutes.

Prepare the Ingredients
Halve and peel onion. Cut halves into 1/4" dice.
Mince garlic.Combine ricotta and a pinch of salt and pepper in a mixing bowl. -
Cook the Pasta
Once water in large pot is boiling, add pasta and cook until al dente, 11-13 minutes.
Reserve 1/2 cup pasta cooking water. Drain pasta in a colander and set aside.While pasta cooks, continue recipe. -
Start the Sauce
Heat 2 tsp. olive oil in a large oven-safe non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
Add onion to hot pan and cook until translucent, 3-5 minutes.Add garlic and cook, 30 seconds.Add ground turkey. Break up until no pink remains and turkey reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 7-9 minutes.Stir in 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper. -
Finish the Sauce
Stir in tomato puree and cook, 1 minute.
Add half the red wine (the rest is yours to use as you please!) and stir occasionally until evaporated, 2-3 minutes.Stir in crushed tomatoes and garlic salt. Bring to a simmer.Once simmering, cook until sightly thickened, 8-10 minutes.Stir in pasta and half the pasta cooking water until fully combined.If too thick, add remaining pasta cooking water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.Remove from burner. -
Broil Pasta and Finish Dish
Evenly top pasta with shredded cheese and dollops of ricotta mixture.
Broil under hot broiler until cheese is melted and lightly browned, 1-2 minutes.Don't text and broil! Keep an eye on the broiler as cheese may burn easily.Carefully remove from broiler. Pan handle will be hot! Use an oven mitt.Plate as pictured on front of card. Bon appétit!
