Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using shrimp, follow same instructions as chicken in Steps 2 and 3, baking covered, 10 minutes, then baking uncovered until shrimp reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

    Drain black beans.

    Combine rice, beans, a pinch of pepper, and 2 Tbsp. water in provided tray.

    Add the Chicken

    Pat chicken dry.

    Top rice mixture with chicken, then seasoning blend and a pinch of pepper.

    Bake the Dish

    Cover tray with foil. Bake covered in hot oven, 20 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven and remove foil. Top chicken with butter, a pinch of salt, and cheese. Bake uncovered until chicken reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 5-7 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven. Garnish with guacamole. Bon appétit!
