Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes.

Start the Filling
Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
Add ground beef and savory seasoning to hot pan. Break up meat until no pink remains, 3-4 minutes.Beef will finish cooking in a later step. -
Finish the Filling
Add carrots and 1/4 tsp. salt to hot pan. Stir occasionally until lightly browned, 3-4 minutes.
Stir in tomato puree and flour until no dry flour remains.Stir in 1 cup water, demi-glace, and corn until combined. Bring to a simmer.Once simmering, cover and cook until sauce begins to thicken and ground beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 3-4 minutes.Remove from burner.While filling cooks, continue recipe. -
Heat the Mashed Potatoes
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine mashed potatoes, cream cheese, 1/4 tsp. salt, and 1/4 tsp. pepper. Stir vigorously to combine.
Cream cheese will melt as mashed potatoes heat.Cover with a damp paper towel. Microwave covered until heated through, 2-3 minutes.Carefully remove from microwave.Stir in butter and a pinch of salt and pepper until melted and combined. -
