Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Start the Couscous Mixture

    Place carrots and 1 tsp. water in a microwave-safe bowl. Cover with a damp paper towel.

    Microwave covered until slightly tender, 3-5 minutes.

    Carefully remove from microwave.

    Place microwaved carrots, couscous, 2 cups water, mirepoix base, piri piri seasoning (use less if spice-averse), 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper in one provided tray.

    Bake uncovered in hot oven, 10 minutes.

    While couscous mixture bakes, continue recipe.

    Make Tzatziki Crema and Prepare Shrimp

    In a mixing bowl, combine creme fraiche and tzatziki. Set aside.

    Pat shrimp dry.

    In second provided tray, combine shrimp, 2 tsp. olive oil, and chimichurri seasoning. Spread into an even layer.

    Finish the Meal

    After 10 minutes, carefully remove tray from oven and stir couscous. Tray will be hot! Use a utensil.

    Bake both trays uncovered in hot oven until couscous is tender and shrimp reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 20-25 minutes.

    Carefully remove both trays from oven and stir softened butter and 1/4 tsp. salt into couscous mixture.

    To serve, top couscous mixture with shrimp. Garnish with tzatziki crema and almonds. Bon appétit!
