Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F

Start the Sausage and Peppers
Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary. Break into bite-sized pieces.
Evenly divide sausage and peppers between both provided trays.Evenly top each tray with 1 tsp. olive oil.Bake uncovered in hot oven until sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 15-18 minutes.Carefully remove trays from oven and drain any excess liquid. -
Add the Orzo
Evenly divide orzo, potato spice seasoning, tomatoes, peas, and chicken base between both trays. Add 1/4 cup water to each tray and stir to combine. Trays will be hot! Use a utensil.
Cover both trays with foil. -
Finish the Meal
Bake again covered in hot oven until orzo is heated through, 15-18 minutes.
Carefully remove trays from oven.Evenly top both trays with butter and half the cheese (reserve remaining for garnish). Stir until melted and combined. Trays will be hot! Use a utensil.To serve, top orzo with remaining cheese. Bon appétit!
