Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Start the Vegetables

    Trim green beans, if necessary. Break in half.

    Drain potatoes and pat dry.

    Combine green beans, potatoes, 1 Tbsp. olive oil, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper in one provided tray. Spread into an even layer.

    Bake uncovered in hot oven, 20 minutes.

    While vegetables bake, continue recipe.

    Add the Meatballs and Potatoes

    Finely crush crackers.

    In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, crushed crackers, mayonnaise, garlic salt, and 1/4 tsp. pepper. Form mixture into 12 evenly-sized meatballs and place in second provided tray.

    After 20 minutes, carefully remove vegetable tray from oven. Season with 1/4 tsp. salt and top with cheese.

    Bake Meal and Make Sauce

    Bake both trays uncovered in hot oven until green beans are tender and meatballs reach a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 20-25 minutes.

    While meal bakes, combine fig spread, mustard, and 2 tsp. water in another mixing bowl. Set aside.

    Carefully remove trays from oven.

    To serve, top meatballs with fig-mustard sauce and crispy onions. Bon appétit!
