Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

  • Chicken 165° F |

  • Ground Turkey 165° F |

    Start the Broccoli

    Break broccoli into bite-sized pieces using hands.

    In provided tray, combine broccoli, minced garlic and chili pepper (use less if spice-averse), 2 tsp. olive oil, and half the garlic salt (reserve remaining for chicken). Spread into a single layer. Cover with foil.

    Bake covered in hot oven, 15 minutes.

    While broccoli bakes, continue recipe.

    Add the Chicken and Pimiento Cheese

    In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheese, and pesto. Set aside.

    Pat chicken dry and season with remaining garlic salt.

    After 15 minutes, carefully remove tray from oven and push broccoli to one side of tray. Tray will be hot! Use caution.

    Add chicken to now-empty side of tray and evenly top with pimiento cheese mixture.

    Cover broccoli side with foil.

    Bake the Meal

    Bake half-covered (broccoli covered, chicken uncovered) in hot oven until broccoli is tender and chicken reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 20-25 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven.

    To serve, top broccoli with crispy onions. Bon appétit!
