- 1 Colander/Strainer
Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

- Ground Turkey 165° F |

Prepare the Ingredients
Remove stem, seeds, and ribs, and cut bell pepper into 1/2" dice.
Drain and rinse kidney beans and black beans in a colander/strainer.Trim and thinly slice green onions on an angle, keeping white and green portions separate. -
Cook the Ground Beef
Place a large pot over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.
Add ground beef, chili powder, 1/4 tsp. salt, and taco seasoning to hot pot. Break up meat until no pink remains and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 5-8 minutes.Carefully drain any excess grease from pot. Keep over medium-high heat. -
Add the Bell Peppers
Stir bell peppers and white portions of green onions into hot pot.
Stir occasionally until bell peppers begin to soften, 3-4 minutes. -
Add the Beans and Tomatoes
Stir kidney beans, black beans, tomatoes, 1 1/2 cups water, and a pinch of salt into hot pot until combined. Bring to a simmer.
Once simmering, reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer, stirring occasionally, 20 minutes.If chili is too thick, add additional water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.Remove from burner. -
Finish the Dish
Plate dish as pictured on front of card, garnishing chili with sour cream, cheese, and green portions of green onions. Bon appétit!
