Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

- Ground Turkey 165° F |

If using diced chicken breasts, pat dry. Stir occasionally until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes.

If using shrimp, pat dry. Cook until pink and shrimp reach minimum internal temperature, 2-3 minutes per side.

Prepare the Ingredients
Halve tomatoes.
Stem poblano, seed, and cut into 1/2" dice. Poblano peppers can vary in spice level; most are mild, but a few can be quite hot. Wash hands and cutting board after prepping.Remove sausage from casing, if necessary. -
Cook the Sausage
Place a large pot over medium-high heat.
Add 1 tsp. olive oil and sausage to hot pot. Break into smaller pieces until no pink remains and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.Remove from burner and transfer sausage to a plate.Reserve pot; no need to wipe clean. -
Cook Vegetables and Add Sauce
Return pot used to cook sausage to medium-high heat.
Add 1 tsp. olive oil, poblanos (to taste), and tomatoes to hot pot. Stir occasionally until tender, 3-4 minutes.Add cream cheese, cream base, half the shredded cheese (reserve remaining for garnish), Cajun seasoning (to taste), 1/4 tsp. salt, a pinch of pepper, and 1/2 cup water. Bring to a simmer.Once simmering, stir occasionally until cream cheese is melted and fully combined, 1-2 minutes. -
Add the Pasta and Sausage
Add pasta, cooked sausage, and 1/4 tsp. salt to hot pot.
Stir occasionally until pasta is coated and heated through, 3-4 minutes.Remove from burner. -
Finish the Dish
Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping pasta with remaining shredded cheese. Bon appétit!
