Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F

Cook the Pasta
Once water is boiling, add pasta and cook until al dente, 8-10 minutes.
Remove from burner and reserve 1 cup of pasta cooking water.Drain pasta in colander and set aside. Reserve pot; no need to wipe clean.While pasta cooks, cut mushrooms into 1/4" slices. -
Cook the Beef
Return pot used to cook pasta to medium heat. Add ground beef and 1/4 tsp. salt to hot, dry pot. Break up meat until no pink remains and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

Add the Vegetables
Add 2 tsp. olive oil, kale, onion salt, and mushrooms to hot pot.
Stir occasionally until vegetables are tender, 4-6 minutes. -
Add the Sauce
Add 1/4 cup pasta cooking water, cream base, crème fraîche, 1/4 tsp. salt, cheese, and mirepoix base to hot pot.
Stir occasionally until sauce is slightly thickened, 2-3 minutes.If too thick, add remaining pasta cooking water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached. -
Add Pasta and Finish Dish
Add pasta to hot pot. Stir occasionally until heated through, 2-3 minutes.
Remove from burner.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping pasta with crispy onions. Bon appétit!
