Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using ground beef, cook until patties reach minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes per side.

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Core tomato and cut into 1/4" dice.

Halve lime. Cut one half into wedges and juice the other half.

Mince cilantro (no need to stem).

Trim and thinly slice green onions on an angle, keeping white and green portions separate.

  2. 2

Make Pico de Gallo and Prepare Turkey

In a mixing bowl, combine tomatoes, lime juice, cilantro, and white portions of green onions. Season with salt and pepper to taste, if desired. Set aside.

Form ground turkey into 6 equally-sized balls.

  3. 3

    Start the Tacos

Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and spray with cooking spray.

Working in batches if necessary, add turkey balls (leaving enough space in between so they have room to spread) to hot pan.

Using prepared burger press or spatula, press down on each ball until as thin as possible. Season evenly with taco seasoning. Cook undisturbed until browned on one side, 2-3 minutes.

  4. 4

    Add the Cheese and Tortillas

Flip turkey patties and top evenly with cheese, then tortillas, pressing firmly to adhere. Cook until cheese is melted and turkey reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 2-3 minutes.

Flip again and cook until tortilla is heated through, 1-2 minutes.

Repeat with remaining turkey, cheese, and tortillas, adding more cooking spray, if necessary.

  5. 5

    Finish Tacos and Finish Dish

Remove from burner. Transfer to clean work surface and gently fold tacos in half. Tacos will be hot! Use caution.

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping tacos with pico de gallo, guacamole (to taste), and green portions of green onions. Squeeze lime wedges over to taste. Bon appétit!
