Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

  • Ground Turkey 165° F |

    Cook the Pasta

    Once water is boiling, add pasta and cook until al dente, 10-12 minutes.

    Remove from burner. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta cooking water. Drain pasta in a colander. Set aside.

    While pasta cooks, continue recipe.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Halve lemon and juice.

    Stem parsley and coarsely chop.

    Thinly slice mushrooms.

    Coarsely chop capers.

    Mince garlic.

    Cook the Mushrooms

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 1 Tbsp. olive oil.

    Add mushrooms to hot pan in an even layer and cook undisturbed until deep golden-brown on one side, 4-5 minutes.

    Stir occasionally until golden-brown all over, 2-3 minutes.

    Add garlic, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper. Stir until fragrant, 1-2 minutes.

    Make the Sauce

    Reduce heat to low. Add butter, capers, half the parsley (reserve remaining for garnish), half the red pepper flakes (to taste; reserve remaining for garnish), 2 tsp. lemon juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper to hot pan. Stir until melted and combined.

    Add Pasta and Finish Dish

    Add pasta, a pinch of salt, and 1/4 cup reserved pasta cooking water to hot pan. Gently toss until coated and heated through, 30-60 seconds.

    If sauce is too thick, add additional reserved pasta cooking water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

    Remove from burner.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping pasta with remaining parsley and remaining red pepper flakes (to taste). Bon appétit!
