Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Halve tomatoes.

    Trim and thinly slice green onions on an angle, keeping white and green portions separate.

    Start the Skillet

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and generously spray with cooking spray.

    Add ground beef, fajita seasoning, white portions of green onions, tomatoes, and a pinch of salt and pepper to hot pan. Break up meat until no pink remains and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

    Drain excess grease from pan, if desired.

    Finish the Skillet

    Add cream base to hot pan and bring to a simmer.

    Once simmering, stir occasionally until slightly thickened, 2-3 minutes.

    Add cheese and stir until melted, 30-60 seconds.

    Stir in pasta and onion salt until warmed through, 1-2 minutes.

    Remove from burner.
