Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Start the Sausage and Vegetables

    Turn oven on to 400 degrees. Let preheat, at least 10 minutes. Remove all produce from any packaging or constraints, then thoroughly rinse and pat dry.

    Remove sausage from casing, if necessary.

    In one provided tray, break up sausage into bite-size pieces and combine with pepper and onion mix, red pepper flakes (use less if spice-averse), and half the garlic salt (reserve remaining for pasta).

    Bake uncovered in hot oven, 20 minutes.

    Sausage will finish cooking in later step.

    While sausage and vegetables bake, continue recipe.

    Add the Pasta and Sauce

    In second provided tray, combine pasta, cream base, remaining garlic salt, mozzarella, pesto, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.

    After 20 minutes, carefully remove sausage tray from oven and stir to combine. Tray will be hot! Use a utensil.

    Divide pasta mixture, sausage, and vegetables evenly between both trays. Stir to combine. Cover both trays with foil.

    Bake the Meal

    Bake both trays covered in hot oven until sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 15-20 minutes.

    Carefully remove both trays from oven.

    To serve, top with Parmesan. Bon appétit!
