Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using diced chicken breasts, pat dry. Stir occasionally until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes.

    Bake the Flatbreads

    Place flatbreads on prepared baking sheets flat-side up.

    Bake in hot oven until lightly browned, 6-8 minutes.

    While flatbreads bake, continue recipe.

    Cook the Sausage and Peppers

    Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary.

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil.

    Add sausage and bell peppers to hot pan. Break up sausage and stir occasionally until bell peppers are tender and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

    Stir in marinara sauce and a pinch of salt until combined, 30-60 seconds.

    Remove from burner.

    Assemble the Flatbreads

    After 6-8 minutes, carefully remove flatbreads from oven.

    Evenly top flatbreads with sausage-pepper mixture, then mozzarella.

    Bake Flatbreads, Make Garlic Pepper Ricotta, and Finish Dish

    Bake in hot oven until edges of flatbreads are crispy and mozzarella is melted, 4-6 minutes.

    While flatbreads bake, in a mixing bowl, combine ricotta, garlic pepper, a pinch of salt, and 1 tsp. olive oil. Set aside.

    Carefully remove flatbreads from oven.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping flatbread with dollops of garlic pepper ricotta and Parmesan. Bon appétit!
