Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • Meatlovers! If using protein, cook in a medium non-stick pan over medium heat with 1 tsp. olive oil. 

  • If using top round steak, pat dry. Cook until steak reaches desired doneness, or 3-5 minutes per side for medium/medium-well. Rest, 3 minutes. Steak thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner steak, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

  • If using chicken cutlets, pat dry. Cook until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 3-5 minutes per side. Cutlet thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner cutlet, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

  • If using salmon, pat dry. Add salmon, skin-side up first, and cook until salmon reaches minimum internal temperature, 3-4 minutes per side. Add protein to meal as desired.

    Cook the Broccoli

    Cut broccoli into 1" pieces.

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

    Add broccoli, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. pepper, and 1/4 cup water to hot pan. Cover and cook until broccoli is tender and water is mostly evaporated, 3-5 minutes.

    Add the Sauce

    Add minced garlic and parsley and flour to hot pan. Stir often until no dry flour remains.

    Stir in cream base, mirepoix base, 1/2 cup water, and 1/4 tsp. salt. Bring to a simmer.

    Add the Pasta

    Once simmering, add pasta, cheddar, and a pinch of salt to hot pan. Stir often until melted and combined, 1-2 minutes.

    If sauce is too thick, add additional water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

    Remove from burner.

    While pasta cooks, continue recipe.

    Make Garlic Bread and Finish Dish

    Halve ciabatta diagonally and separate halves. You should have 8 pieces total.

    Spread softened butter on cut-sides of bread. Place cut-side up on prepared baking sheet. Top with half the Parmesan (reserve remaining for garnish).

    Broil under hot broiler until golden-brown, 1-2 minutes.

    Don't text and broil! Keep an eye on oven as bread may burn easily under broiler.

    Carefully remove from broiler.
