Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F
Customize It Instructions

If using diced chicken breasts, follow same instructions as shrimp in Steps 2 and 3, baking covered in hot oven until shrimp chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 30-35 minutes.

If using whole chicken breasts, on a separate cutting board, cut into 1” dice. Follow same instructions as above.

If using steak strips, spread into a single layer, pat dry, and coarsely chop, if desired. Follow same instructions as shrimp in Steps 2 and 3, baking covered in hot oven until no pink remains and steak strips reach minimum internal temperature, 20-25 minutes. Rest, 3 minutes.

If using Impossible burger, follow same instructions as shrimp in Steps 2 and 3, breaking up burger and baking covered in hot oven until heated through, 20-25 minutes.

1 Start the Peppers
Turn oven on to 425 degrees. Let preheat, at least 10 minutes. Thoroughly rinse any fresh produce and pat dry.
Add diced peppers and a pinch of salt to provided tray.Bake uncovered in hot oven until beginning to soften, 12-14 minutes. -
2 Add the Rice and Shrimp
Pat shrimp dry.
Carefully remove tray from the oven. Add rice, 3/4 cup water, mirepoix base, and seasoning blend.Top evenly with shrimp. -
3 Bake the Meal
Cover with foil. Bake covered in hot oven until rice is bubbling and shrimp reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 14-16 minutes.
While meal bakes, halve and juice lemon.Carefully remove from oven. Add 2 tsp. lemon juice, 1 Tbsp. water, butter, half the cheese (reserve remaining for garnish), crema (to taste), 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper. Stir to combine.Garnish with remaining cheese and crispy peppers. Bon appétit!
