Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F

Prepare the Ingredients
Remove stem, seeds, and ribs, and cut bell pepper into 1/4" strips.
Core tomato and cut into 1/4" dice.Trim and thinly slice green onions on an angle, keeping white and green portions separate. -
Start the Filling
Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.
Add ground beef, taco seasoning, and white portions of green onions to hot pan. Stir occasionally until browned and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes. -
Finish the Filling
Stir half the salsa (to taste; reserve remaining for topping) into hot pan. Bring to a simmer.
Once simmering, remove from burner.While filling cooks, continue recipe. -
Heat the Tortillas
Wrap tortillas in a damp paper towel and microwave until warm, 30-60 seconds.
If tortillas come folded, keep folded. -
Assemble Tacos and Finish Dish
Plate dish as pictured on front of card, filling tortillas with beef mixture and topping with cheese, cabbage, bell peppers, tomatoes, remaining salsa (to taste), and sour cream, if desired. Garnish with green portions of green onions. Bon appétit!
