During winter months, a fruit smoothie may feel a little out of place. Add a scoop of rolled oats, though, and suddenly the game has changed. The bright sweetness of blackberries and mango get some substance when blended with just enough oats to provide a boost of fiber and nutrients. Now that's something we can sink our teeth into.

    Blend

Reserve two blackberries for garnish, if desired. Place all ingredients in blender, plus 2 cups ice, and blend on high 2 minutes until nice and smooth.

    Drink up!

Divide smoothie between two glasses and garnish with reserved blackberries. Blackberry seeds are rich in dietary fiber and antioxidants, but if you prefer a smoother texture, strain the smoothie through a wire-mesh strainer before serving. Otherwise, you might want to avoid the last few sips of the glass, since seeds tend to settle to the bottom.
