Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

- Ground Turkey 165° F |

If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes.

Cook the Beef and Onions
Place a medium pot over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil.
Add ground beef and onions to hot pot. Stir occasionally until onions are tender and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.Remove from burner. Drain excess grease from pot and return to medium-high heat. -
Add the Broth
Add flour to hot pot and stir until no dry flour remains.
Add chicken base, garlic salt, creme fraiche, and 1 cup water. Stir until combined and bring to a simmer.Once simmering, stir occasionally until slightly thickened, 3-5 minutes.Remove from burner and stir in half the cheese (reserve remaining for garnish) until melted and combined.If soup is too thick, add additional water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.Remove from burner.While soup cooks, continue recipe. -
Prepare the Ingredients
Line a microwave-safe plate with a paper towel. Spread bacon on towel-lined plate.
Microwave until crisp, 1-2 minutes.Carefully remove from microwave.While bacon crisps, core tomato and cut into 1/2" dice.Coarsely chop half the pickles (remaining are yours to use as you please!).In a mixing bowl, combine chopped pickles, mustard, and sour cream. Set aside. -
Finish the Dish
Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping soup with crisped bacon, tomatoes, remaining cheese, and pickle mixture. Bon appétit!
