Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using ground beef, cook until patties reach minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes per side.

  • If using ground turkey, cook until patties reach minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes per side.

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Cut potatoes into 1/2"-thick fries and pat dry.

Core tomato and slice into 1/2"-thick rounds.

Stem jalapeño and slice into thin rounds. For less spice, remove seeds and ribs. Wash hands and cutting board after working with jalapeño.

  2. 2

    Roast the Fries and Vegetables

Combine fries, 2 tsp. olive oil, and 1/4 tsp. salt in a mixing bowl. Massage oil and salt into fries.

Transfer fries to prepared baking sheet and spread into a single layer on one side. Reserve bowl; no need to wipe clean.

Place tomatoes and jalapeños in a single layer on empty side of baking sheet. Top with 1 tsp. olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper.

Roast in hot oven until beginning to brown, 10-12 minutes.

Fries will finish roasting in a later step.

While fries and vegetables roast, continue recipe.

  3. 3

    Form and Cook the Patties

In reserved mixing bowl used to season fries, combine Impossible burger, panko, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper. Form mixture into two evenly-sized patties, about 5" in diameter.

Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

Add patties to hot pan. Cook until lightly charred and Impossible burger reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 3-4 minutes per side, topping patties with cheese after flipping.

Remove from burner. Cover with foil and set aside.

  4. 4

    Finish the Fries

After 10-12 minutes, remove baking sheet from oven. Transfer tomatoes and jalapeños to a plate.

Top fries with ranch seasoning and carefully toss to combine. Fries will be hot! Use a utensil. Spread fries into a single layer.

Roast again in hot oven until golden-brown, 15-18 minutes.

    While fries roast, continue recipe.

  5. 5

    Toast Buns and Finish Dish

Place buns directly on oven rack, cut-side up, and toast until golden-brown, 2-3 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven.

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping bottom bun with guacamole, patty, tomatoes, jalapeños (to taste), and top bun. Bon appétit!
