Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

- Ground Turkey 165° F |

If using ground turkey, add meatballs to hot pan and cook until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 11-13 minutes.

Prepare the Ingredients
If desired, pull strings from snap peas. Cut into thirds. If string is hard to find and remove, make a very thin cut lengthwise along the string.
Trim and slice white portions of green onions into 1" pieces. Thinly slice remaining green portions on an angle. Keep white and green portions separate.Combine ground beef, Asian garlic, ginger & chile seasoning (use less if spice-averse), half the green portions of green onions (reserve remaining for garnish), panko, and soy sauce in a mixing bowl. Form mixture into 16 equally-sized meatballs. -
Cook the Meatballs
Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.
Add meatballs to hot pan. Cover and roll occasionally until browned all over and meatballs reach a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 8-10 minutes.Transfer meatballs to a plate and cover with foil. Drain any excess liquid from pan. Keep pan over medium heat; no need to wipe clean. -
Cook the Vegetables
Add 2 tsp. olive oil to hot pan.
Add carrots and 1/4 cup water and bring to a simmer.Once simmering, cover and cook until water is mostly evaporated, 3-5 minutes.Uncover and add white portions of green onions, snap peas, and 1/4 tsp. salt. Stir occasionally until vegetables are tender, 5-6 minutes. -
Add the Rice
Carefully massage rice in bag to break up any clumps. Remove rice from packaging.
Add rice, umami seasoning, and a pinch of pepper to hot pan. Stir occasionally until rice is heated through, 3-5 minutes.Remove from burner.While rice cooks, continue recipe. -
Heat Sauce and Finish Dish
Place stir fry sauce in a microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave uncovered until heated through, 2-3 minutes.Carefully remove from microwave.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping rice with meatballs and sauce. Garnish with remaining green portions of green onions. Bon appétit!
